Good Safety Is Good Business

Combining leadership and employee involvement to achieve a zero harm workplace.

Today it will seem that no matter how many regulations you comply with or management systems you introduce people continue to suffer injury at the working interface.

You are aware of the moral, financial and legal drivers for good health and safety management and yet it continues to play on your mind and cause you concern as it did with me when I was managing a site with over 500 people.

If only there was a way to lead with safety and encourage everyone to work together to achieve an injury free workplace.

We can help you and your people to appreciate the human side of Health & Safety and help you to move towards your goal.

"I personally found that both the days were informative and your knowledge on your topics was exemplary. It also gave me the tools to educate through communication and hopefully how to get the best out of people! I have attended many courses over the years but the ones you have carried out have given more value than any of them put together." - Safety Manager, Paper Mill

Tim is NEBOSH qualified and has had many years experience of influencing radical change in safety performance in the heavy industrial sector of papermaking. He was Head of H&S for the paper trade association for five years from 1999 - 2004.

We provide interventions that enable all employees to re-evaluate their personal role in Health & Safety, becoming aware of how changing their individual beliefs and behaviours will deliver an incident and injury free workplace.

We have recently launched our 'Leading With Safety' (LWS) programme as an external national programme. Two clients have been receiving this programme, and variations on the theme, since 2011, and we have to date worked with 250 of their employees, from top to bottom of their organisations. When it comes to encouraging more 'Worker Involvement', we find that a good place to start is with a quick gap analysis, like the one which may be found by clicking this icon. It is based upon 'HSG 263 - Involving Your Workforce In H&S', page 26.

If it's OHSAS 18001 Certification you require then we can help you with a Gap Analysis and Report of Findings, which includes a suggested SMART action plan to help you achieve your goal.

“Tim is an excellent Trainer and Communicator and very professional. All who attended the session felt the same, and believe training sessions like these can help us step up to the 'next level' in H&S management.”
- Manager, Rubber factory Feb 2010

Our expertise in facilitation, coaching, training, operations and human resources have combined to enable us to develop a distinctive approach to health and safety.

"Tim and Dan are excellent trainers, very modern, interesting and fun approach, which is what safety needs."
– Engineering Manager, Chemical Company

When not working within mills and conversion plants, we are sometimes sought out by external associations to help them with H&S initiatives. A case in point is the publication, 'No Paper Without Skilled, Healthy and Safe People - Report of Good Health and Safety Practices in the European Pulp and Paper Industry'. On 20 October 2010, in the context of the European Paper Sector Social Dialogue, EMCEF and CEPI organised a workshop on health & safety practices in the European paper industries. Tim chaired this workshop in Brussels. The report was the outcome of a collaboration between member states to pool good H&S practices. Tim provided editorial services to ensure the overall consistency, harmony and readability of the report and chaired the launch event in Germany. To view the informative 60-page report, click on the pdf icon below.
